What To Do Outside Of The Apartment

Please explore a few creative ideas below. We tried to make a list that would be off-the-beaten path, and perhaps a few things are new even for the locals.

What To Do Inside The Apartment

We invite you to relax, take a sunbath on the balcony, go down the beach area and find a few people to play volleyball with. Enjoy your time, and take a real break from your day-to-day.

What Else To Do In Tallinn

Here is a selection of a few ideas that are off the beaten path:

1. Kopli’s Ghost Factories & Art Spaces

Explore post-industrial decay turned into creativity. The old Baltic cotton factory (Balti Puuvillavabrik) and nearby Kopli lines are semi-abandoned, with occasional underground art installations and experimental music nights. Kopli is raw, changing fast — a photographer’s dream.

1. The Botanic Garden & TV Tower
  • 📍Kloostrimetsa tee 52, 11931 Tallinn

  • 🔥 Not visited often by tourist, but has a spectacular selection of plants, is very quiet and beautiful. The climb to the TV tower gives you a spectacular view of Tallinn.

2. Põhjala Tehas – Creative Factory

A haven of independent workshops, vegan cafés, breweries, tattoo artists, galleries, ceramic studios, and handmade design. It's like Telliskivi before it got polished.

  • 📍 Marati 5, Northern Tallinn

  • 🌿 Try: Ceramics workshop at SaviStuudio or a tea ceremony with locals.

  • 🍺 Beer: Põhjala Tap Room – craft beer meets New Nordic smoked BBQ.

3. Linnahall Rooftop at Sunrise or Sunset

This abandoned Soviet-era concrete colossus by the sea is haunting and cinematic. Climb up for the most surreal, wind-kissed view of Tallinn without a tourist in sight.

  • 📍 Mere pst 20

  • 🎧 Bring headphones. Perfect for journaling, meditating, or drone shots.

4. NUKU Museum + Backstage Puppet Theatre Tour

A puppet museum? Yes. But this one hides Kafkaesque magic. The behind-the-scenes tour is like stepping into a surreal fairytale-meets-Lynchian dream.

  • 📍 Lai 1

  • 🧠 For adults with imagination, not just kids.

5. EKKM – Contemporary Art Museum of Estonia

Located in an old boiler house, this artist-run institution often features provocative, challenging, and highly contemporary installations that reflect Estonian soul and European edge.

  • 📍 Põhja pst 35

  • 🌒 Bonus: Combine with a drink at Kai Art Center nearby for a full art-day.

6. Balti Jaama Turg – But Not the Obvious Part

The flea market in the basement and the random Soviet antiques area upstairs are filled with bizarre finds: war medals, vinyls, and weird old tech.

  • 📍 Kopli 1

  • 🔍 Look for old postcards, Estonian board games, and Soviet photo film.

7. Ehe Mood – Estonian Myth-Inspired Fashion

An intimate boutique where fashion meets folklore. Find items inspired by Estonian runes, nature, and mystical archetypes.

  • 📍 Telliskivi Loomelinnak or Uus Maailm district

  • 💎 Great for gifting or finding a statement piece.

8. Kalamaja Cemetery Park (Kalamaja kalmistupark)

A hauntingly serene former cemetery turned secret park. Rarely visited, it carries deep layers of Tallinn’s erased history.

  • 📍 Tööstuse 31

  • 🌲 Sit on the grass, breathe in the silence, write or sketch.

9. Silent Cinema or Film Screening at Sõprus Kino

A retro art-deco cinema that screens classics, indie, and avant-garde films in a beautiful setting.

  • 📍 Vana-Posti 8

  • 🍷 Some nights are paired with wine or director talks.z
